Basement Remodel – Part Two

Slowly, but surely, we are moving along with the basement remodel. We recently sold our pool table and the new owner had it professionally dismantled and moved to his house. Check! We also gave the large monster TV away to two teenage boys.  Check!  Their dad came with them to pick up the TV and you could tell how excited they were to get it.

I decided to keep the large TV cabinets and have a few ideas on how to repurpose them again to fit into the new space. I know for sure it will involve a beautiful shade of chalk paint!  The popcorn ceiling removal will begin within a few weeks, and once that is done, we can do a thorough cleaning in preparation to have the floors stained.  We are still unsure what color and pattern we will be going with, but, that will fall into place soon, I am sure.

We also decided to do an accent wall where the TV will go. Since we have pine paneled walls, we will paint them in various shades so that they look somewhat weathered and it adds some interest to the room. I do know that my color palette is going have shades of soft, smoky blues, so paint and stain colors will need to coordinate with this.

Hopefully at next month’s newsletter, the ceilings will be done and we will be ready to stain!
