On a recent trip to the Los Angeles area with two girlfriends, I was greatly inspired by the beautiful colors we came across. We packed a lot into a short amount of time, and really got to experience so many interesting things during the weekend. The photos that follow tell the story of our fun weekend adventure!

Bauer Pottery Showroom

I had never heard of Bauer Pottery, but it was on my friend, Candy’s, bucket list, and just happened to be open the weekend we were in town. It is located in Glendale, CA and is a company that has been around since the early 1900’s. I was hooked the second I walked into the showroom!

Hollywood, CA

The trip was planned around seeing the legendary, Jeff Lynne and his Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) at the Hollywood Bowl. Since we were staying the night in Hollywood, I wanted to see Whiskey a Go Go and the Rainbow Room. As a child of the 80’s, the bands that have performed and hung out here in the late 80’s and early 90’s are the bands I grew up listening to and loving. I was shocked at how small Whiskey a Go Go really is!  The other primary sight to see was the legendary duo, Hall & Oates, star that they had just received the weekend prior.

The Hollywood Bowl

What an incredible venue! It was a perfect night for an outdoor concert! The sound of ELO performing with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra was an incredible, truly magical experience!

Santa Monica Pier

It was fun to check out the Pier and have lunch at the Mexican restaurant at the end of it. It was a very busy day with many people sightseeing and enjoying beach time at the ocean.

Long Beach, CA

We stayed at our friend’s place in beautiful Long Beach. It has a more mellow vibe than the hustle and bustle of L.A. We walked along the beach and toured the Queen Mary while there.

Crystal Cove

Located between Newport Beach and Laguna Beach, Crystal Cove is a beautiful beach area that still has a bit of the 50’s feel. We walked a long, long way down the beach looking for interesting shells. Our 7-hour trip here included a dinner on the beach at the local restaurant followed by watching the amazing sunset. Truly a charming place!
